Hi everyone. Just joined a couple of days ago so here's a light hearted introduction. Three years ago my son gave me a Yamaha Guitalele for Christmas and although these things are quite inexpensive, they can be a lot of fun. Tuned 'A' to 'A' - like regular guitar with capo on 5th fret, it is easy to just pick up and play. Only downside is trying to squeeze my big fingers between the frets of the short scale length.
Anyway, last year I grabbed my dashcam from the car and recorded this with it. Ignore the dog - he thinks he knows it all.

Lovely! Looks fun, and sounds good too. Nicely played, Fred.
Is the guitar with the pentagon shaped soundhole the one you built yourself?

Keith Thanks Keith, the pentagon guitar is one I made many years ago but like so many of my earlier experiments it has been dismantled and rebuilt several times. The one I made that I use every day has been played to death over the last ten years and goes everywhere with me. It is still going strong but is in desperate need for a redress in the new year (when I get the time).

I went to ukulele factory a couple of weeks ago and they showed me a KoAloha Opio Guitalele. I hade a go playing it and was very impressed, the simple folky fingerstyle stuff I play on guitar sounded really good. I'm used to playing a uke so the narrow fret spacings were OK. The Yamaha sounds really nice!

The beauty of the Yamaha is the price and of course the play-ability Yamaha seem to excel at. Some travel guitars are quite expensive so this is a great instrument to take anywhere with no worries at all.
