Is it really 50 years this year since the release of one of the best albums of all time. CK wrote or co-wrote all the songs. Tracks on the original album were ... Side 1 "I Feel the Earth Move" "So Far Away" "It's Too Late" "Home Again" "Beautiful" "Way Over Yonder" Side 2 "You've Got a Friend" "Where You Lead" "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" "Smackwater Jack" "Tapestry" "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" It's still one of my most played albums. What's your favorite track?? Mine's got to be You've got a Friend. Or possibly Will you still Love me Tomorrow. Oh no, its So far Away. All right, I can't choose. What an album. What a musician. FFJ Attachments:

They're all good songs that have stood the test of time. I prefer side 1 to side 2

Brilliant album. Fifty years, though... hard to believe. Still sounds great.

... and it's her 79th birthday today! Certainly agree - a most excellent album with some standout songs. Keith

I’m like you fatfingerjohn , I can’t choose a favourite. It’s also on my still play it a lot list. Maybe Way Over Yonder might be my favourite because whenever it’s playing I can’t help but join in with gusto. Tuneless gusto but gusto nonetheless. I remember being in a bar in the US many years ago and there was pianist/singer on the go. She had one of those jars for tips on top of the baby grand. After a couple of tinctures I want up to her stuck a couple of dollars in the jar and in all seriousness said,”Do you know, “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman?” Even when I heard myself saying the words the penny didn’t drop. She looked at me, winked and then into the microphone so that the whole bar could hear, “Honey, that’s illegal here and in 8 other states.” Shuffled back to my bar stool. Happy birthday, Carole.

Both sad and happy to say I still have the vinyl LP purchased soon after it was released...

I've always loved the sadness of 'So Far Away' - tunefully and lyrically brilliant, as far as I'm concerned.
But the empowerment of 'Natural Woman' is a fantastic song with which to close an album - which is why it's one of those albums that must never be played on 'shuffle'.

Brilliant, classic album. My favourites are 'You've Got a Friend', 'So Far Away', and 'It's To Late'.

Hi Leo, I also love So far Away. I watched this video a few years back. You know I'm 'so far away' from being very competent on anything other than basic fingerstyle but, with the help of a small bit of tab and a good chord sheet and this video I can actually manage to do this (just about). If you (or anyone else) wants me to forward the lyric/chord sheet I've got (in word) let me know and I can send it on in a message (don't want to do it openly on here as it may be copyright). John
