I started out my journey to become a master artisan instrument builder in 1976. My story is available through several documentaries archived on the internet. For purposes of information this short biography may help:
Graduated 1977 B.Ed.Hons in English and CDT. My theses and dissertations covered topics from Mesopotamian metal craft to the evolution of the classical guitar
1993 began building guitars full time with Tony Revell
1995 contracted to build ukulele for the Hawaiian market under the brand name Island Koa Ukulele
2001 abandoned building guitars and other fretted instruments to concentrate on ukulele building
2015 diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease
2016 awarded WCMT Fellowship to study the teaching of ukulele building on the west coast of USA and Pacific Islands of Hawaii
2019 started work on The Revelator design
2021 concluded R&D of The Revelator design concept with a market tested and ready model - The Nautilus Revelator Tenor Ukulele
So I am going to document for you the build of one of these which is the 'bling' model that is the iteration of the Revelator design that came first.
