I had a recent enquiry about one of my 36 Weissenborn's I built in the late 90's turning up in Japan...

when Picato Musician Strings were still in the business of string manufacture in Treorchy, South Wales I had specialist sets made for me as well as bespoke strings for my harp guitars.

Curious I asked the chap for the serial number so I could identify it:

I spent some time looking through my 'shop' record book - I had forgotten how many non- Martin repro guitars I made when I was brave, young in the business and knew nothing, not even how to spell Weissneborn correctly! Anyone else astonished at what they used to do when they didn't know any better?

FYI - entry below the Weisssenborn is my 'real' guitar. I'll do a photo and sound bite for you.
