Came across these two recordings a few weeks ago - uploaded by the same person, who seems to be digitising a few performances from their archive (With permission from the original performers). There's a few more, including some Fairport, on the same YouTube channel.
Both gigs feature songs/tunes that weren't released on studio albums, and in Nic Jones's case, that weren't on the Unearthed/In Search Of albums either - very exciting for fans like me...
Really lovely to hear the gigs in full, with the chat in between the songs etc.
Here's the Nic Jones gig:
And here's the Chris Foster gig:

Not sure if you've seen but every now and then the odd Nic Jones John Peel session gets uploaded to youtube. e.g. this recording uploaded earlier this year, with some gorgeous playing (again, including a track that's unreleased elsewhere): And this one, with a brilliant arrangement of the great Phil Colclough song "My Grandfather Knew The Plough": Lots of good stuff out there!

Good shout there George - thanks. I bought an Oberon from Chris some years ago - nice bloke! Keith You're welcome! Lovely, did you end up keeping it? He's a great player/singer/interpreter of trad song - I've always missed his gigs when he's been over here so hope he comes back once gigging properly resumes!

I bought it from Chris at the end of the platform at Bristol Temple Meads station and we had a good chnwag in the cafe afterwards. I used it extensively for some years for ceilidh band and fiddle/guitar gigs but when those situations changed I reluctantly had to move it on. Roger refretted it for me, which improved it a lot and after a while I sold it to Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes (long story!) who used it as an "at home" guitar until he sold it and lots of other gear to a Seattle music shop when he took some time out from music to further his academic studies. Still quite miss it! Keith

Hi Folks, Tony Rees here, original recordist and uploader of the shows mentioned... glad you are enjoying them. If you have not already noted, I uploaded some otherwise unobtainable and/or forgotten radio sessions of Chris Foster as well, see here: Chris Foster in concert 1975 / in session 1977 (audio only). I seemed to be the only possessor of the first 3, Chris had the remaining ones sent to him by some kind person out in web land. Not much more on the shelf from the 70s, but more in my holdings from the 80s through 2000s - I am slowly getting around to working on them to get them let out, but in some cases hitting the bottleneck of agreement from the original artists - but will see how I go! Cheers - Tony Rees Australia (UK to 1986)

You are very welcome... actually to date I have put up all or portions of some 15 shows, mostly settling on Youtube as a dissemination vehicle, though a few others posted via Facebook and other sites (consolidated now to Youtube as well in the main). YT does not have the ultimate in audio quality but it is pretty good for dissemination purposes - not sure about long term archiving, but maybe as good a free service as anything else As mentioned above, you can view my list of uploads to date via my youtube channel: * www.youtube.com/channel/UChlROgEoRDf0aFCSaF082Lg/videosOther uploads via third parties: * (Albion Country Band, Norwich 1973) * (Richard & Linda Thompson + band, Cambridge Folk Festival 1975) I am also keeping a similar list in 2 other places, so that folk from those specialised communities might find them: * mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=170354 * en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Tony_1212#Live_concert_recordings(the above are not always in sync. but are intended to be within a few days). On the last cited link (my Wikipedia user page) if you scroll up you will also find a selection of my music photographs that I have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons/Wikipedia, again for interest of/access by posterity if of sufficient interest! Thanks for listening and for your kind comments. More comments are always welcome, on the relevant Youtube pages if you feel so inclined.
