Hello, Visiting Diss, in Norfolk, I wandered into an interesting craftcentre/workshop/shop. There were three nice handmade Guitars on display for sale at around £2,000 each, I picked up one steel strung OM size Spruce/Rosewood instrument, tuned and played it a little before I was dragged away by SWMBO. A nice playable well made guitar I would have been sorely tempted if I didn't now have "sufficient" guitars.
From the label:- David Butler (guitar Maker) Tivetshall St Mary. Norfolk.01379 677704.
I hope that might help someone. Robin.

I bet there can't be too many Luthiers with that name in that part of Norfolk. Website isn't massively informative.

The very same man, I do believe, perhaps that steel strung acoustic was a left-over from before he decided to concentrate exclusively on Classical and Flamenco, whatever it's certainly a lovely thing. Sometimes I need to pretend that's enough guitars for now (Now? I'm 80)

Can anyone explain the meaning of this phrase? I suspect dogwheel has had their account hacked. Either that or been abducted and this is a coded message for help. Nothing else could possibly make sense.

Well, Dogwheel really went into the shop to enquire about a waistcoat, that came to nothing though.
Mind you, he has shared this thread with his "principal carer and mentor" who is laughing heartily, so maybe there is still a glimmer of hope (for more Guitars).

Having considered this particular conundrum, I may have understood the nub of my initial confusion, thus:
In order to be a guitarist, the minimum requirement, in terms of number of guitars, is one. Therefore, one guitar is SUFFICIENT
However, as many of us know only too well, it is never ENOUGH
