I'm curious if people here have a dream guitar that they aspire to owning?
Alternatively, do you own the guitar your teenaged self was cutting out of Guitar World to pin on the wall? Is it everything you'd hoped it would be?

I got my dream guitar (or I should say my wife bought it for me) in 1998. A Lowden F12C purchased in London after seeing EC at the Albert Hall the night before. I love that guitar and can't imagine parting with it.
However, whilst on holiday in Perth, Australia, I went into a very nice store suffering from withdrawal (from guitar) symptoms and was handed a Macilroy P series to play. It felt like it was made for me so I suppose that would be my dream guitar to buy.
This is all irrelevant because my budget could not justify the price. Over the years I have been experimenting building my own and last year treated myself to some very nice woods. My dream now is to find the time to nail it all together and put strings on.

I've managed to buy, and keep, most of those over which I have drooled in the past... but still regret letting a RosieTGC get away when I had the chance.

I played a 1980’s Sobell arch top at an Eric Roche guitar workshop in the early 2000s that guitar was exceptional. I would like to own my own Sobell .
Though I have a British guitar currently being made and I’m lucky to own some amazing guitars.

My dream guitar tends to change quite regularly, although at the moment it is a fairly standard Brook Lamorna but with a tobacco burst top Robbie

My teenage self always lusted after a Gibson Les Paul Custom. This and a Marshall stack. Today I don’t even own an electric ‘guitar’, so fair to say that didn’t work out

As a teenager I always wanted a Gibson ES 335. I bought one in 1989, gigged with it in a blues band for 10+ years. I remember the first time I played it loud through my Hiwatt amp, I could feel the air pumping out of the f holes. Great tone and great memories.
I still have it but don't gig with a band any more.

I should have given a bit more detail about my choice the Torres FE08. This guitar has been described as the greatest example of the luthier's art ever made. This is one of Torres tornavoz guitars made in 1858, made from maple and spruce the guitar has extensive inlay, made up of many, many thousands of individual pieces of wood and mother of pearl, and of course in 1858 all of the pieces were hand cut and assembled. The tuners, frets and nut are all from solid silver. The guitar is still in its original condition and is in the Fortuny collection in Barcelona. There have only been a couple of good copies made the most notable by UK maker, Brian Cohen, probably the best British classical builder (his one pictured here). I had started to put the wood collection together to attempt to make a copy when I had to stop building. Colin

It's all about the Yamahas for me.
My dream guitars are LL/LS 66 and 86 and an FG2000 - but I'd love to get my hands on any old premium Yamahas, particularly those with Jacaranda back and sides.
I also like Ben Wilborn's guitars.

My dream guitar tends to change quite regularly, although at the moment it is a fairly standard Brook Lamorna but with a tobacco burst top Robbie I'm a bit like that. I've realised my approach to guitars is one of serial monogamy - I find my "forever" guitar, grow gradually dissatisfied with it as I work out it's great for X but less suited to Y, then 5-10 years later I find the next "forever" guitar.

I still hanker after a Gretsch White Falcon. Certainly influenced by Neil Young, one of my favourite guitar players. I'm not sure why, because I don't know what I'd play on it. This multi-decade itch persists.
