Quite sad, a marvellous man and very influential guitar player. I missed seeing him in Dr Feelgood, catching them live only after he'd left and been replaced by Gypie Mayo, sometime in the late 70's at the Cambridge Corn Exchange.
I did see him a few times in more recent years (2013-2014), at some charity events organised by Suggs in aid of a Pancreatic Cancer charity. Included in those bands were Roger Daltry, Jools Holland, Norman Watt-Roy, Wix (McCartney's keyboard player) and other luminaries. Quite an experience.

Taken with my elbow on the stage.

Another sad one - though he did manage a fair few years after his diagnosis.
The Roxette clip is a classic, love it!
RIP.

I thought Wilko was a great guitar player.
