Speechless francis. That looks stunning, love the headstock motif. Dale

Bit more done today.
Fretboard/neck have become one piece and I've made a start on profiling the heel and neck. Taking it easy.
Rummaged through the off-cut box. I knew I had an off-cut there with a pattern similar to the back...

Great looking end graft francis and I love the way the rosette sections connect.

Finally got round to adding some lacquer finish. Long way to go yet but a step in the right direction.

I seem to keep repeating myself in comments, so I'll just say, "Yum!" francis.

Bridge preps and glue on today.
I'm using a shaped cawl under the soundboard that bridges the curved bracings but matches the curve of the bridge plate. The cawl has 6 threaded holes matching the bridge pin holes. Once the glue has cured these will be opened out and tapered to match the bridge pins. I'm using 4mm metric machine screws as clamps through the bridge into the cawl, with a couple of clamps either side to keep the wings in place.

Clamps are off but I'm leaving for a few days as we have family visiting and will finish off the final few bits next week and get some strings on. Current state... photo hosting software

Looking very gorgeous francis. Couldn't message when I got home from work yesterday as the site was down for several hours. Very much hoping to hear how it sounds when finished. Dale

Wonderful, Francis. But it should be a condition of sale that your friend joins the Forum so we might get to hear it!

I'll see if I can get a covert recording at the handover. Meanwhile it's back to intonating the saddle pieces...
