From Headway the pre-amp/pick-up people. They set out to produce a range of affordable coated strings. I not normally a fan of coated, in don’t like the feel of Elixirs for example but these are cheap enough to try. Very pleased, it’s hard for me to do a proper comparison as I usually take a set of dead strings off so whatever I put on will always sound better. But they sound great and don’t feel coated. Not had them on long enough to asses longevity. Great customer service too! www.headwaymusicaudio.com/product/everlux-strings/

I wonder if some of the other products on the site (pickups and pre-amps) would be of interest to forestdweller at this time? Dale

I wonder what the regular price will be? I'm very tempted to give them a try!

Dale Those strings might be worth a try, though after my recent Santa Cruz strings debacle I am tempted to give up experimenting with strings and just stick to D'Addario XS, which last months and sound quite lively for a long time. Dale I've used Headway stuff quite a lot in the past, and really rate them. I've had 2 of their preamps before, but have always ended up selling them when live performing dries up. If I don't play out live in 12 months I tend to get rid of my gear, which is stupid I know. They have just released their newest valve preamp, but at £500 its quite an investment. I've also found the controls on their preamps to be a little fiddly, which is what attracted me to the simplicity of the Orchid stuff (or even the red eye DI). Robbie

It would be great if it didn't! I think I'm going to try some - thanks for letting us know about them!
