An occasional face on this forum, George Sansome has really excelled himself with this contribution to the compilation album 'Sing Yonder Vol.1'
This is the best thing I've yet heard from George - a very intense and hypnotic treatment of this rather fire-and-brimstone folk ballad - with a Davey Graham edge to some of the fingerpicking.

Love George's work, solo and with others, esp Granny's Attic.

Thanks Matt Milton and ocarolan, just seen this - really appreciate your kind words and glad you like the song! Karl's got a brilliant project with Sing Yonder, the booklets are really well produced, affordable and accessible, and a great resource. The Sing Yonder website is well worth a look!
