Hello U.K. Guitar Friends--I am the Jack for whom Oska Burman has been building two OM guitars for the past 18, 19 months, one in Euro Spruce/East Indian Rosewood and one in Western Red Cedar/East Indian Rosewood. I have received the guitars today, and just wanted to let one and all know that these are as fine of bespoke guitars as I have ever received, and I have commissioned many over the years. The craftsmanship is simply flawless. The guitars are meticulously, painstakingly, dare I say lovingly built. They are vibrant, punchy, loud, dynamic--everything you could want in an acoustic instrument. The setups are just perfect, too, as is the intonation, which I have found to be not always the case with bespoke guitars. If you are looking for a luthier to build you your dream guitar, I would definitely consider Oska. Even though he has raised his prices a bit since 18 months ago, the guitars are still a bargain when compared to anything else of the quality and craftsmanship and professionalism of Oska'a instruments. In the States where I live, you can't buy a Collings guitar any longer for the current price of Oska's guitars, just as a comparison. I have mentioned to Oska that he should consider posting pics of the finished guitars in the build thread he started several months ago, for you all to see just how exquisite these instruments truly are; hopefully he will do that before too long. Cheers. Best, Jack

Hi Jack, I absolutely agree. I am fortunate enough to live only about 15 miles from Oska's workshop and have visited him few times, which ended up with me buying his Bog Oak OM guitar earlier this year. Superb workmanship and a joy to play. I'm glad your OMs were everything you hoped they would be - I did see them in the building process, although it was far too early to try them sadly Martin

Hi, Martin--I really think the double-sides are a big part of the "trick" with Oska's guitars. They have a very solid, firm, punchy voice to them, which I don't quite feel in my other guitars that don't have double-sided construction. It's not better or worse, just a bit of a different kind of a vibe, really dynamic instruments, for sure.

The double sides and the bog oak in my OM have had a big effect on the weight, making it almost the heaviest guitar I have, yet it responds so well and sounds very open. Very interesting, and the guitar does feel extremely solid.

Cheers. Best, Jack Thanks a lot for your comments Jack. You have been a pleasure to make a guitar for & a great client to work with. We were able to work together harmoniously to figure out all of the details that you wanted in your guitars & you courteously let me make the remainder of the decisions, so that I could build the guitars in the style & manner that I am accustomed to. I hope you get years of enjoyment out of these instruments & hopefully they further inspire your musical creativity.
