Just in case it helps anyone... I've got K&K Trinity Pro systems (mic + piezo) installed in two guitars and really like them, but I wanted another preamp because I share it between the two very different guitars, and changing the EQ means taking the cover off and fiddling with little pots inside the case. Up till now I've only taken one of the guitars out to play but now I want to take both, and can't really be taking the preamp apart in mid-gig to adjust things. It's also the last thing I have that uses 9v batteries, and I've been wanting to move away from that as well.
However - and I hadn't realized this, being pretty ignorant of things electronic - because of its voltage requirements, the mic is made to work with the K&K preamp. I've tried two other stereo units (a Baggs MixPro and a Headway EDB 2) but the mic doesn't work with either of them. K&K do a much more expensive preamp that does have external EQ for both channels, but it's a bit too much for my budget.
The preamp does have two output channels, so my current thinking is to set the preamp EQ flat and plug it into the Headway, which will let me tune the IQ for each channel through its multiplicity of controls. Or does anyone know of a stereo preamp that *will* work with the Trinity Pro?
