Simon Nicol has posted the sad news of the death of Gerry Conway.
Not a guitarist, I realise, but a good number of us here will have seen him with Fairport, Pentangle, Fotheringay et al, and heard him on more recordings than we probably realise.
I saw him with Fairport on a number of tours; great drummer and a really lovely bloke, always had time to chat.
Very sad; another legend gone.

Oh dear. How sad. Seen him play loads of times, mostly with Fairport, though probably the first time I saw him was with Fotheringay way back in 1970.

& was married to Jacqui McShee of Pentangle...if memory serves, was also in Jethro Tulls touring band as drummer/percussionist...
what a musical life....
