Can recommend pretty much any of the Cube amps by Roland from the Micro's to the Blues...just ensure all the knobs/functions work prior to parting with the readies....have used all these in home & gig settings in the past for guitar & harmonica...
Consider also a Fender Excelsior (2nd version with the updated Eminence speaker) & tone modification....( my go-to electric amp)

I don't play electric, but if you're looking for an amp with so many sonic possibilities that it's totally mind blowing, have you thought about one of the Positive Grid Spark amps. They come in a few different varieties, and I don't particularly recommend the really tiny one (the Spark Go), which struggles with low frequencies, but the Spark Mini is surprisingly good for such a small beastie, and the Spark 40 is pretty decent. There is a new one comng out, The Spark 2 which is a 50 Watt amp with a rechargeable battery option. They all use the same app for control and dialling in effects. TBH, I've found there are too many variables for my simple brain to contemplate, but if you're into variety... Just putting it out there, and expecting to be shot down in short order.

I second that, mostly . I have the Spark 40 and the Spark GO (which I often use with headphones). Both have Bluetooth input for backing tracks, metronome and everything you want to play to. The posibilities of the combination of amp and app are amazing and the sound is great. I use them with my Ibanez AF95 and my d'Angelico Bedford DeLuxe.

Well I was all set to go and pick up a Roland Blues Cube Stage for sale locally but this has really got me thinking. They do the Spark Live, only read about it this morning, but it could potentially be the goldilocks all in one option for electric and acoustic. I currently use a JBL eon one compact for acoustic things but could the Live do it all I wonder if I sold the JBL?! I'm not going to jump in straight away but it is certainly something to read up on.

There are tons of youtube clips about the Spark family. A lot of pros but quite a few cons, too. Allthough a lot of cons date back to the time when the firmware was all but stable. If I had to do it all again, I would probably get the Spark Mini instead of the combination of 40 & Go, as I mainly use the amp for practising and noodling around. The Mini has the same compatibility, but is much smaller than the 40 and sounds better than the GO.

When the Spark Live was first introduced (last year? earlier this year?) I did contemplate it, but I decided I didn't have a real use for it. But they do appear to be the answer to many a prayer. I haven't used one, nor heard one. I can say, though, that the guitar amps are pretty good (with my caveat about the Go and its lack of bass response) and punch well above their weight. But do remember, they are almost completely dependent on the app, which adds a complication. As Akquarius says, look at a lot of the more recent YouTube vids, and if you can, try before you buy.

I’ve not played electric for a few years, when my JC120 was my tank of choice, but I do a fair bit of audio-teching at a variety of gigs and for just about all styles and venue sizes I’m seeing a lot of players using Blackstar amps, some of them quite serious guys.

Just a quick update, eventually bought a Fender Tone Master Princeton. An almost new one came up on another forum at a great price and the owner was kind enough to meet up a few miles away.
Had a fine afternoon with it yesterday, it'll more than do the job for me. The 5-way attenuator that switches the power between 12 and 0.3 watts is really handy and will hopefully keep my neighbours from attacking me with sticks.

Had the day off yesterday and went to Pedal Empire in Brisbane to try out some Heritage electric guitars. I made the mistake of playing a Benson amp. I now own a Benson Vinny Reverb combo, the Tone King Gremlin is up for sale and I’m seeking forgiveness from my lovely wife.
