I will be there. Peter

Ooh... Harrogate's not *that* far... 7 hour round trip from here. Would be tempted if it was closer (and if I was going to be looking for a new guitar). Does look good though.

I'd love to go but it is just too far from Oxford.

No Stefan Sobell or Ralph Bown or Adrian Lucas?

No Stefan Sobell or Ralph Bown or Adrian Lucas? I am not the organiser, but I would assume that neither Stefan nor Ralph would care to exhibit, not being known for that kind of marketing. I don't know if Adrian was approached... or indeed who was also asked to participate. Peter

No Stefan Sobell or Ralph Bown or Adrian Lucas? That would be a bit like inviting Michaelangelo to exhibit at a local art society (which is good)! Jonny

I doubt that any of them take it as a personal slight, though, so maybe we shouldn't take offence on their behalf, either Bucknall isn't there, either. I've never heard of Sobell or Bown even advertising, let alone exhibiting. Indeed, not advertising or even having a website seems to be Bown's schtick. Maybe they had limited space and asked those who they knew personally first and, when enough of them said 'yes' and the roster was filled, didn't bother asking anyone else. Unless someone asks the organisers we'll never know. If I go along, and happen upon an organiser, I'll ask

Let's celebrate the ones who are there, rather than the ones who aren't. Especially people like Oliver, Jamie, Sam, Oska and the rest of the younger craftspeople nearer the beginning of their careers than the end. We need to support them. We need to applaud the initiative of putting together an opportunity like this for them, and the other UK builders. There is no-one else in the UK that you will be able to see instruments of this calibre in the same room at the same time. This is the first one - it will only be expanded and repeated if people attend.

It looks like a very exciting list of talented makers - I've had guitars from Rory, Rosie and Oska and have dealt a lot with Ian Dickinson so if there's any chance I can get along, I'll take it

I decided to just go to the source to end any speculation I *know* there'll be folk wanting to say "Well, XXX can hardly be described as 'up-and-coming'..." and they'd be right. And I don't mind. As I thought; it's limited space so they can't invite everyone. If enough folk go, maybe they'll get a bigger venue next year and can invite your favourite luthier I've also booked my ticket - and got a 15% discount (using code SB25) - so that's nice, isn't it?
