At last MCC is doing a short UK tour next year. We were lucky enough to see her 8 years ago on her last visit here; didn't really know her music much then but it was a knock-out. I associated her more with 80' 'country' style but her genre is so much wider now and has written some amazing stuff. She is joined on this tour by Julie Fowlis so should be fab with hopefully some great duets as well. We've got tickets for Birmingham on 3rd March; looks like they're selling fast. Other venues are Manchester, London Palladium, Sunderland and Edinburgh. Here's the link to the dates www.marychapincarpenter.com/tourFFJ

We’ve got tickets for Edinburgh as it coincides with a trip up there to visit our son.
Tickets are selling fast; we logged on when the sale opened yesterday and it took us a couple of attempts to get some decent seats. My wife checked in the afternoon and most had gone.

Thanks for posting this - Palladium tickets booked. It's going to be a good musical start to the year, what with Mr.McTell in January and MCC in March!

KP fans can watch her on Live to Your Living Room on Friday this week - livetoyourlivingroom.com/events/karine-polwart-3/Saw her via this platform earlier in the year and she was excellent. Plus you get a really comfy seat, no need to drive/park, and you can drink as much as you like! Keith

I don't know Karine Polwart's music but just litened to the link of 'Lark'. Ignoring the Scottish lilt, her timing and delivery is very, very, simiar to that of Kate Rusby, uncannily so on this song. Looking forward to this concert even more now.
I agree with your reference to a comfy seat and no parking although you just can't beat live music and, as I said on a recent thread, we are so lucky here to have some terrific local venues where you can do this without the hassle of the city arena type concert. Having said that MCC will be worth both the journey and the parking hassle.
