Hey y'all, so I got myself a new guitar teacher and went for my first lesson last night It is purely classical guitar but the chap teaching me is so passionate about the instrument its unreal I think he is in his early 40's and he studied music for many a year inc Uni and reached grade 8 of classical guitar by the time he was 15 - he is some player his guitar sounds blummin gorgeous, cant remember the guy who made it, but think it's a 'Christopher' surname I forgot, buts its beautiful He also uses what I call a gadget on his guitar (there will be a name for it but don't know it) which is a funny shaped thing that attatches to the side of the guitar via suckers and rests against your leg - which is basically instead of using a foot rest - for me I will stick with a foot rest for now anyway My 30 min lesson last night became an 1hr 15min lesson which I was aware of and told him to chuck me out when necessary but he wasn't bothered saying the 1st lesson is always longer as he wanted to see where I was with my playing aswell as him explaining things in detail to me - which I thought was very good and professional of him For my acoustic guitar I will continue to work with my RGT books on my own at home at my own pace to develop my chords and other stuff in the books, which I basically did when I had my previous teacher as he was more classical than acoustic and see how I develop, and if needs be find a teacher at a later date All in all I am over the moon with my new teacher, shame I have to wait a week until my next lesson

I'm sure he'll be able to pass on the details. Glad that your passion is re-ignited, philw, long may it last

That's good to hear, Phil. My personal passion renewal comes from our latest forum meet ;D About the knee thing: there are two or three different versions available. Mine is the Neck-Up www.neckup.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc which is made of a leather strap and can therefore be used on different guitar sizes.
