No. However, I saw Martin Simpson a couple of weeks ago and he mentioned, by way of introducing a BJ track he played, that he was playing at this gig. I think I heard somewhere that he hosted it. SHould be well worth a view on beeb4.

I'd have loved to have been there. I was hoping it was filmed so thanks for the news!

I was there playing with Beverley Martyn.
It was an extraordinary night. A pleasure and a privilege to be a part of and a chance to pay tribute to one of my heroes.

You were in great company Michael that must have been a great experience. It had a "who's who" style cast list (my invite must have been lost in the post).

It was an incredible night... Not too acoustic from my side of things... Attachment DeletedAs I understand it the broadcast on BBC 4 will be early next year (around Feb I heard) so I won't go into too much detail about the night itself as I don't want to spoil it. I should say a massive thank you to Martin Simpson (MD for the event) who was unflappable in the face of some extraordinary pressure. MW

Thought you were a one guitar man? ;-)

That is a Gretsch White Falcon...
My Kostal Modified Dreadnought is a sublime fingerstyle guitar but sounds awful through a fuzz pedal and doesn't have a bigsby...
The White Falcon is my only electric guitar.

That gretsch looks seriously tasty. Never got round to a hollow body, tended to stay with either the acoustics or solid body electrics. If money was no object would have to add an Andy Manson Archtop www.andymanson.co.uk/available_now/archtop_flamed_maple/ but would have a few things in front of a hollow body.

I've always had a thing for Gretsch guitars and the VOX AC30 is the perfect amp for me. After 5 or so years of straight acoustic the only guitar that felt right was a 17" hollowbody... the fact that it's bright white and covered in gold and rubies is a bonus I guess... Still, stops me getting bored!

That and the undeniable bling factor... All the best, Alasdair.
