This morning saw me making a run through to guitar guitar in Edinburgh , with the intention of having a look at guitars already set up with a decentish pickup / preamp scenario . I ended up walking out the place with a new Freshman F250OC all solid orchestral cutaway including case . It really was a steal indeed and a lovely guitar with a very pleasing tone . On the website it doesn't have much info as its a new model with solid Mahogany back and sides and what actually looks more like a solid Cedar top . With a fishman pickup system and tuner . More of an in depth account and details with some pics to follow . I'm off to play with my new gigging toy ;-)

Thanks everyone . I've been pretty busy the past few days that I've hardly had it out the case . I checked out Freshmans website and its part of the Cedar creek series all solid Mahogany back and sides and solid cedar top . I was having serious gas the past few weeks and though I really wanted a decentish gigging instrument I never for a second thought I'd get one this side of 2014 . My only issue with it is the lack of a scratch plate but quick visit to eBay last night soon fixed that and it should be with me before the new year . The guitar itself has a lovely bass response with generous mids and trebles . As for amplified tone that will remain to be seen until Saturday night when it will be plugged into a 50 watt Marshall acoustic amp . As I say pics and a full review will follow once I've got the time to think and breathe as the kids are finished school and up to the moon excited for Santa .(the old guy) lol Ba Humbug .

Glad you're happy with your new guitar Derek. 3 pals of mine have Freshman guitars (not sure of the models) and all of them are really nice guitars. I'm a fan of cedar tops :-)

I also purchased a guitar randomly today. Having got a Sigma 000R-28V recently and totally fell in love with. I have taken a shine to Sigma. I have always fancied a small guitar to mess around on, I wanted a little martin for ages, but was never keen on the HPL (feels like plastic) back and sides and the ridiculous price, however I discovered Sigma do their own version a half the price, I didn't bother with the one with the electronics as it will be for just messing around on, sofa, back, holidays working away that kind of thing... Well Impressed with her... a Sigma TM-12. Popped in my local store which I also had a gift card for, and saw this instrument and new straight away, im having it..lol

Yes those Sigmas are pretty impressive . I like the look of the D45 as well . And theres a custom one with an Adirondack top and Madagascar rosewood solid back and sides with ebony board , it looks awesome .

Not had chance to play a Freshman but they certainly look tasty from the photos and seem to get good reviews Phil
