Hello folks,
Apologies if this is the wrong section of the forum. Couldn't seem to find a specific part of the forum for this.
Looking to get into recording some piece and making wee videos for myself, to gain a portfolio of songs. Recently I've realized many arrangements I have learnt over the years have simply disappeared from my brain. Struggle to grasp any of these pieces.
So I'm wanting to start recording and making videos of me plaything these pieces. Also to help with my vocals so i can create backing tracks.
I would like your advice on this.
What setup would be good and what equipment you use from Software, Interface and Mics. I've considered getting a wee pocket recorded the Zoom Q3HD where it records video and sound and good quality. But listened to many reviews and samples of it and It's just not as good as sounding as i want.
Hoping some of you could help in this.
Many Thanks, Chris.

Chris, I use the Zoom Q3 (not the HD version) for all my recordings nowadays. I don't use the video function (I need to keep the friends I have), just the audio, but I've been happy with the sound I've got from it. Keith ( ocarolan) uses the Zoom H2 for his recordings and davewhite uses, I think, a Zoom H4N - if you want better sound than they get then I think you're probably talking professional!

The Recording section is under a sub-heading of Playing and Technique, Chris. Home-recording
