Hi, folks. I hope you are all well. I was wondering whether there were any luthiers around here that might be able to help me with a guitar query. I've posted before, I think, about Mariposa...my 1996 Guild A-25. Someone on another forum remarked that the pattern on the top is interesting, so I wondered exactly how many markings a top has to have before it's designated as 'bearclaw'. Many thanks,

If it has any bearclaw then it's bearclaw, although probably wouldn't be advertised as such until there is a significant amount.
Bearclaw is the type of figure rather than a specific number of figure marks.

Nice guitar. What is the string spacing at the saddle? It's one of the few older Guilds with a 1 3/4" nut.
I love Guilds - my favourite USA guitar maker.
