We used to have a 12 string thread on the old forum which as 12'r I would like to revive. I have put some links in to some 12 string threads and some songs, so feel free to add anything that takes your fancy and some piccies of your machine if you play one. I received an EKO for Xmas and it's a long time since I had a guitar that I just have to pick up & play so much. Them ol' Moody Blues songs come alive again.

I love 12-strings, they make you approach the guitar in a very different way and the new tonalities and chord voicings on offer are very inspiring! here's one I played earlier...
That's all in standard tuning btw

You can add The Only Living Boy in New York and For Emily Whenever I May Find Her to the list and the original recording of Sound of Silence had a 12 string on it. Fakin' It as well. Paul Simon has used 12 string extensively all through the years. The live version of America on Live Rhymin' has him playing one. He has three just now, two D12-28s built for him and an Olson he bought used.
Pretty much everything Pete Seeger played on guitar was 12 string and he converted Judy Collins to it too.

Was going to suddgest the same too , Seegar and Judy Collins were both 12 string fans as was David Bowie who used a Hagstrom 12 for much of his Ziggy stardust era . Also Wanted by Mr Jovi .

The one and only, the classic - Walk Right In.
San Francisco Bay Blues and Goodnight Irene go well on a 12er too.
Hide your love away is an obvious Beatles one, as are Hard Day's Night and I've just seen a Face, but lots of their songs work really well with a 12 string, and, if you're tuned down to D, C# or even C, they tend to be a lot easier to sing; I'm looking through you being a case in point.

While no expert on 12-strings, I do enjoy their sound and I'm always put in mind of this classic song when I hear a 12-string...
'Stuck in the Middle with You', Stealers Wheel

I just bought my first 12 string and I don't know why more people don't have one, it's great! I'd add Tom Petty's Free Fallin' to the list (all three chords of it!) and also this cracking tune by Dave McDowell ; Rich.
