Beautiful part of the world, Michael, even in winter! Have a great time, and you should pop in and see Rory since he's only 5 minutes from Pittenweem. Or visit Crail Pottery....it's nice too

Funny how you can't mention a single town on this 'ere forum without everybody knowing all the guitar shops in the area. I mean, for all they know, you could be headed for a particularly good branch of Thorntons.

Armed with custard slices, I went to Rory's this afternoon as I've not had the pleasure of playing one of his guitars.
Spent a couple of hours playing a Brazilian rosewood Taran Mhor - wow!
On the one hand, for a long time I've fancied a Gibson J200. On the other, the Fylde Ariel left a lasting impression on me when I visited Fylde some years back.
I sometimes feel my Taylor is a bit lifeless when finger-picking (thumb/flesh), but the Taran Mhor was a joy, and seemed to encourage me to slow down and enjoy the trebles ringing out. Size wise - it sits so comfortably, just right :-)
Seems that turning 50 might not be all bad after all! Will have to give this a think.
I did take the camera, just didn't use it, maybe next time when I pick up the classical that he's sorting for me :-)

Nice wee spot to live and for a workshop! Glad you had a good time. Alasdair.

Glad you had an enjoyable afternoon. Hope you didn't get custard on the guitars.Actually, I didn't have one - Rory had them both. I could have one every day if I wanted, whereas he lives in the back of beyond... but he gets to play nice guitar every day. For one afternoon only, we swapped roles so to speak!
