Following posts on my thread about string changing on my 12-er and Keith's truss rod suggestion to relieve buzzing, I've found this video which seems to explain it very well (after a slightly slow start). So, once I've found some allen keys ..........
(Apologies to most of you who will find this subject old hat but I've never attempted it before and there may be the odd other one out there like me. If you hear a loud twanging sound and some verbals coming from the Midlands area this afternoon you know I should have left well alone. )

Thanks for posting that fatfingerjohn. It's a daunting job that I hope never to have to do, but this will certainly help.

This, as it says on the tin - charlestauber.com/luthier/Resources_files/BasicGuitarSetup101-March2013.pdfis a good overview of basic guitar setup - it includes a section on truss rod adjustment. Crucially, it contains instruction on the quick and easy way of checking your neck relief (and need/lack of need for truss rod adjustment)- useful for monitoring it from time to time irrespective of any audible problems. Setting/checking for the correct amount of neck relief is always necessary before proceeding to any nut/saddle diagnosis/problem solving, and these subsequent areas are also covered in the pdf above. There's plenty more stuff Google-able, but this doc has the lot all in one place in readable and clear form. Well worth downloading and reading slowly and carefully.....and applying. Happy reading! Keith

I've downloaded it, Keith - thanks. I like the idea of being able to check your neck relief without needing specialist tools. Had to stop myself thinking of Ralgex, though!
