I've very seriously considered a Stonebridge/Furch. I've seen that model for £590 around the interwebs and it seems to tick most of the boxes except one. I failed to mention in my opening post that I'm after no larger than a concert body. GA is too big for me.

I saw that too. Does anyone know anything about them?

I have owned several MIC Stanfords (performer series) and they were fantastic guitars. Some Stanfords are made by Furch and also sold as Stonebridge. I'm not sure where this one was made and haven't ever seen this model in person.

That's well worth looking further into then. Thank you.

I have a MIC Stanford, It was a series that was discontinued a while back but the Stanford brand was designed by Furch and either built in China or in their Czech factory. I have no idea about the 'new' range of Stanfords though. If you have a look here, they have a model which has the same name as the Furch guitars and looks near enough exactly the same aside from a different headstock, which makes me reckon they still have a connection with Furch.

Playing pal Glyn, Nuffsed, has a v nice sounding and feeling Stonebridge fairly smallbody and 45mm nut, cedar/mahogany though not a current model. Haven't played any recent ones sadly. Keith

They are a very interesting range of guitars and several of them take my fancy. Well priced and well appointed with good specs. I'm digging deeper.

Keith Stonebridge do do a smaller bodied version of the one Violet linked to, but it is right at the limit price wise and I'd prefer not to go that far if I don't need to. I'm also still concerned that there are reports of Stonebridge guitars falling apart after a few years.

Stonebridge guitars are very well made, i've never heard of one falling apart.

I've read several reports of issues with them. It probably wouldn't bother me as I've only kept one guitar for longer than a year.
I'm much more interested in those Stanfords.

Regs Peter Too expensive, Peter. I'd only want an OM and they don't come up very often and not in my price range.

Hello again, I don't want to sound argumentative but you can get an 02 for under 800. eg Wunjo, which I thought was a smidhge over your starting price. Apologies if I'm being thick or missing something...
Regs etc Peter

Peter, I appreciate your input, but there is (as clearly stated) no "smidge over my starting price". In fact, I've reviewed my ceiling in light of some other expenses and it's now £550.
The only Larrivee I've tried did nothing for me, btw. I know that's not a large test sample though.
