Hello all. While I've covered a few known American artists here I also have interest in other music from other nations and cultures. For instance, I play Dougie Maclean's Caledonia quite often and consider it a standard bearer for the wandering minstrel, alongside Gordon Lightfoot's Minstrel Of The Dawn and Steve Goodman's The City Of New Orleans.
So, I ask for your own favorite titles that I may learn them and bring a touch of the international into my own pub. Thanks.

If you're into multitracking (for the vocals) then Allan Taylor's "Roll On The Day" is a simple, yet extremely powerful, song about an ex-miner with emphysema from exposure to coal dust...

leoroberts - Thank you so much. That is a beautiful song, which I will have to learn. melodeous - though I can't play it, I've heard superlative versions of this song. Probably a continuation of Americana more than anything else, but worth considering, perhaps.
