To save Rob the trouble, here's this month's Brook Guitars news. brookguitars.com/(look under news) I'd be intrigued to how this guitar sounds. I'm pretty sure the top of is one of Roy Tonewood's Sinker Cedar tops which a few luthiers at the 'other' forum are using. I think this looks stunning! Not one of their conventional designs, but I think they've done a great job with the asymmetric design! A Gibson looking guitar too!

The sunburst is pretty. I had a look on their website but they say it is a BC-01 and that doesn't tie in with their model names so have e-mailed to ask what it is based on

The BC-01 is just the name for a custom model- it was commisioned by a chap called Bob Carter (I think thats his name)who has quite a sizable collection of Brooks (and a few of his quirky designs have been appearing on ebay!) This guitar is MUCH larger than the picture gives the impression of- in fact its a jumbo body size designed by Bob, with a wopping 660mm scale length I believe.
I think the fan fret design is just beautiful- I think I like this design better than their previous ones, though I would have prefered a normal Brook headstock.

Response from Brook:
Glad you liked the BC-1. It’s not one of our designs – it was designed by Bob Courtney, a customer of ours. No doubt he was inspired by the Gibson L-1 but Bob really wanted it to be a lot larger, wanted the bridge right in the centre of the lower bout and a twelve fret body join so it was necessary to give the guitar a longer scale length, it’s a big beast – much larger than the Lyn – bigger even than our Tavy, we had to use a super jumbo sized Hiscox case for it! Sounded great anyway! Cheers, Simon
