That's an incredible journey you've taken us on there Colin - I really appreciate the opportunity to see this project unfold in so much detail - and the end results of the finished instrument are just stunning. The rosette, purfling, binding, and finish are all beautiful but subtle - and show how a guitar can be made to look just classy - unlike the bling a lot of big manufacturers feel they have to inflict us all with. The end result a testament to the painstaking skill you have put into the whole process - if a thread ever showed why there is a justifiable premium to be paid for a quality hand made guitar then this is it. Thank you very much for sharing this build with us, Colin. The guitar is glorious, and the workmanship combined with the fabulous wood you've used is outstanding

I had a friend record this short piece for me on the guitar, not my beloved Tarrega or Llobet, but a nice piece that still makes you feel the warm Andalusian sun on your back! app.box.com/s/xywjsl2ev0fdz6bn2f1oColin

What a sound! The guitar is so sweet in the melody notes, but with a lovely rounded bass in the background

Nice one Obi Wan - sounds sumptuous and gorgeous and I'm missing the Giralda in Seville lots listening to that Brian will be one happy bunny

Thanks all, I'm pretty pleased with the sound it makes, and of course it's early days yet, the voice should get a bit richer over the coming months. And no matter how good a guitar looks if it doesn't sound good its a failure. As Dave knows I'm always a little nervous when I use a new wood combination and this was no exception, but I needn't have worried, talking of which......

Thanks Colin. I've thoroughly enjoyed this thread.
As you say, it will only improve. Dave's posted a vid of one of his which is over ten years old - sounds wonderful. I'm sure this will be no different.
Roll on your next thread - steel string...?
Alasdair.

Yes Alasdair the next is a rather special steel string coming soon, which I think you may find interesting in a number of ways. Colin

Just a quick update on the classical. Here it is in its Hiscox Pro II case, they seem to have changed to a grey lining as standard now.
All packed up and ready to wing its way across the Atlantic.
This is the recommended way to pack a guitar from Stefan Sobell (thanks Dave for putting me on to this) if the guitar is in a box then it tends to get chucked around like any other package by the handlers, but if left to look like a guitar with the handle showing then they get carried around by the handle and maybe treated more carefully. I know I'm a bit naive.
Well it did arrive safely, at a cost of £170! This is it's new owner who is a college guitar student.
