Enticed by Weston Playhouse Theatre's special offer of £10 off a pair of tickets, Mrs O'C and I decided to give this one a go. Very glad we did! Great evening of superb musicianship and singing. This particular tribute band make no attempt to look like the Eagles, but they certainly do go a very long way towards sounding like them. Over two hours of Eagley wonderfulness. Slight dip during part of the second half when they did some relatively mundane songs from the 1980s when Eagle members were doing their own things, but only by comparison with the rest of the show - all yer fave hits magnificently recreated. Even if, like me, you're not a big fan of the tribute band thing, give this lot a try - recommended! www.illegaleagles.com/gigs/Keith

I went to see the Illegal Eagles two years ago and share your view entirely that they are excellent. I don't like tribute acts who try to 'look like' the original; there's no need as its the music you're going for. I remember seeing a Queen tribute band a couple of years back where 'Freddy M' was dressed up like the original but the performer was a bit on the plump side and about 5 ft 3"; just looked ridiculous and most of the audience were just laughing.
As I posted here a couple of weeks ago I saw the 'real' Eagles 3 weeks ago in Birmingham and they were brilliant. I'm also booked to see another Eagles tribute band Ultimate Eagles shortly where they are doing a 'Hell Freezes Over' tour. Will be interested to see how they perform some of the Joe Walsh numbers.
Me an Eagles nut? Naaahhhh.

Was in Sainsbury this morning and saw an Eagles 4 disc box set "Selected Works 1972 - 1999". At £7.49 an absolute bargain. Should have bought a good bottle of whisky as well, though Sunday night is probably not the time be sat listening to great music with a bottle!

Haha! Mrs O'C came home from a shopping trip on Friday with that very 4 CD set - excellent! (But sadly, no whisky.)

Now if it had been a Fri, I think I'd have tried a bottle of Achentoshan - maybe next Fri. Not the whole bottle though...
