davewhite - been enjoying following this mandolin build on your website - www.defaoiteguitars.com/page54.htm- fine looking (and I'm sure fine sounding) mandolin!  Will you be posting a recording? The new tailpiece looks the business - very elegant - hard to be sure from the pic, but ball end strings? Was it difficult getting the endpin jack in - looks like only just room...... Love the position of the anterior strap button!  Hope you'll make it a condition of sale that the new owner joins up here.... Keith

I'm glad you enjoyed watching it being made. Sorry but I haven't any recordings of it but hopefully Adam will do some - he's a very impressive player:
Adam's playing style meant that the trapeze tailpiece was too big and he wanted one similar to those on his Paul Hathaway mandolins. The nearest I could find was one designed by Phil Davidson and it's for loop end strings.The endpin jack is probably at the limit of where it could go but works fine. I'll see if I can get Adam to join up here.

What a lovely band! Loved that, thanks Dave. Speaks much for your mandolin that it balances well for volume with fiddle and Lowden. Thanks for other info too!
