www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b047bsx4A very interesting story about the women who took on the making of Gibson guitars in the war years and the denial for many decades by the company of this taking place. Also within the story is a theme by a Gibson obsessive who has done scientific analysis on the guitars of the period (the war years ) and found............. well I won't spoil it for you but it may interest all you Luthiers Some great stuff about acoustic and other guitars here in this series worth looking at what is on Enjoy

Interesting tests on the guitars. I was half asleep so didn't quite get whether their secrecy was because they were being made by women, or because they should have been making stuff for the war effort.
