I did a coursera course in jazz improvisation a few months ago. The concept is instructor-led video lectures with weekly or fortnightly, peer-reviewed "homework". The improvisation lectures I watched were good quality and the peer-reviewed coursework was - perhaps counter-intuitively - also quite valuable. If this music theory course is run on the same lines then I'd certainly recommend it. Though obviously, you get out in proportion to what you put in (if you don't do the homework you won't get any peer feedback)

I'll def have a look at this. I've vowed that I would learn some theory. Which got me booked with my first guitar lesson in three years, with a Jazz Guitarists. This will give me something to work on throughout my education free summer

Can't decide whether to do the "Sing like Freddie Mercury "course or the "play like Jo Satriani" in a week course. There is also a "play like Staus Quo course but that is only 20 minutes long and comprises 3 chords
