Thanks for posting those, david. We can agree to agree that outlandish claims are fundamentally wrong. In our respective searches for ' perfection ' it's worth bearing in mind that all is seldom as it seems and that even master Persian carpet weavers were sure to include imperfections so as never to challenge the skills of the gods. Far be it for me to want to shatter anybody's musical illusions or douse anybody's inner mounting flame.

I owe Mark Knopfler a pint. He probably doesn't remember though. A mate of mine suggested we go see a band at the Boat Club in Nottingham, just got their first album out, supposed to be pretty good. When we got in we headed to the bar, got some beers, sat down and started chatting. Turned out the blokes we sat next to were in the band. When I finished my pint I asked the guy sat next to me who told me he was the guitar player if he'd like a pint as his glass was empty. He laughed and told me he probably earned more than me so he'dget them in and headed off to the bar to buy a round, including a pint for me and my mate. He seemed like a very nice bloke indeed. Could play a bit as well as we found out later, along with a couple of hundred other people in the audience that night.
