Well, Martin recently had an electrified Mid-Life Crisis, I think I'm having one, just a bit early. I went into my local music shop and there was an electric guitar that was just one of those guitars that you keep looking at and quite fancy owning, it had just come into the shop and the owner had noticed I had taken a shine to it so he suggested I take it home for a couple of weeks to try it out, if I like it then I can buy it, if not then just take it back. At first I thought it was just a regular Squier strat but it isn't, it is an early 80's Squier Stratocaster, it was originally black but I think someone sneezed on it, the electronics are far from Squier though, the electronics are genuine fender parts, 57/62 pickups (I think that's what I remember him saying), big fender pots, a fender bridge and Gotoh tuners, the neck is a single piece maple neck all gloss, do you think £150 is a good price for it, I've been considering an electric guitar for a while?

That must have been one heck of a sneeze! Actually I think I quite like the colour! 3- or 5-way pickup selector switch, Alex?

Well I decided it wasn't for me, I'm going to stick with only acoustic, so I'll probably buy another acoustic with what I would have spent on an electric guitar, priorities are important

We all need a little bit of darkness, Brian So turn off the electric and use candles....oh no, you can't can you, without disempowering your inner Hendrix. Brian

Looks cool although I don't think any Squiers were produced in Korea until '87 at the earliest. The early 80's guitars were Japanese. Having said that, for the money it looks like fun.

Sounds like you've got your priorities sorted. At £150, it looks a steal, though.

The early 80s Japanese strats and teles were awesome bits of kit virtually as good as the USA counterparts
