Sorry about the delay in my reply here - I'm catching up on forum posts now. Thanks Derek, Michael, Jamsinger, Sigmadel, Vince, Marcus. I'm also not sure about the 3 months under the bed sentence passed on the Lowden, but I'm going to try and be strong and see it through till Dec 25. At least with it being part Christmas present I don't have to be stron till next May. Still - just 88 days till Dec 25 .... not that I'm counting! I'm also still not convinced that I haven't lost all my common sense in going for this price (and quality) level. Way above my £ limit for just being a 60th birthday thing on it's own. Hopefully I'll have managed to scrape together enough savings to pay for it all by around about my 60th in May, though I'll still be foregoing a Christmas 2015 pressie after that. So 8 months with the GAS cut off. Mark

24 more long drawn out sodding days still to go! I really just don't know what I was thinking when I said "just 88 days" in my last post .... JUST? .... must have been off my head. Mark

I sympathise, I would'nt fancy having sex either, with a Lowden under the bed.

Pardon my ignorance but what does GAS stand for? It seems to be something to do with an overwhelming need to acquire new guitars - Guitar Addiction Syndrome maybe? I am very familiar with this condition, which I have to say has suffered a major flare-up since joining this forum (thanks for that Keith!). I broached the subject with my beloved spouse only this morning and received a surprisingly favourable response, a sort of yes but it has to wait until we move house. We're not putting ours on the market until the Spring, so it looks like a long winter ahead That Lowden sounds awesome Mark.

Is it recognised by the medical profession Leo (by the way how does one highlight another username?)? No doubt it's part of a much wider complex involving an (almost) compulsive need to collect beautiful objects, depending on your particular passion. Is there any cure? I doubt it.

A regular glance at the credit card bill should do it!

No cure for GAS Andy P - I've suffered from it for electric guitars, pedals, amps, acoustic guitars, and mandolin family instruments. On the plus side my better half has had the same affliction with ukes (and sewing machines) so I get a wonderfully sympathetic hearing. I've been having to look at my credit card bill through half closed eyes from behind the sofa recently! But I've managed to clear the balance just a week or so ago. Mark (23 days ......)

23 days to go. Don't know how you've managed to last this long. Bet you've had a sneaky go. Good luck with the wait.
