That's a tight sound, right there - and superb lyrics. Loved it. Hope they get down South occasionally ....

They are a bit special aren't they. The singer, Jack and the banjo/fiddle/mando player Ciaran are only about 20 or something. Both of them have been steeped in trad music from a very young age. They are doing a lot of gigs abroad these days I think and finishing off an album. They are playing Leith Folk Club on 14th October and I'd recommend it to anyone within travelling distance. They're brilliant live :-)

Saw these guys on Friday night along with Adam Holmes & The Embers and a brilliant Gypsy Jazz quartet called The Rose Room. Dallahan are just getting better and better. I hope these young boys go on to big things, 'cos they are SO talented and so engaging to watch.

Dallahan have been nominated in the best new act category in the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2014 - thoroughly deserved in my opinion. If you enjoyed their music, why not vote for them. You don't need to vote in any of the other categories unless you want to. projects.scottishcultureonline.com/scotstradmusicawards/voting/

Nice to see that they do a cover from Ed Boyd's legendary CD "Red Ciel" - "Shame and Scandal". They're a talented bunch. Thanks for bringing them to my attention.

Nice to see that they do a cover from Ed Boyd's legendary CD "Red Ciel" - "Shame and Scandal". They're a talented bunch. Thanks for bringing them to my attention. They certainly are immersed in the folk tradition for such young lads. The singer goes into libraries and archives looking for obscure old tunes to interpret. They are the real deal, exceptionally good musicians and nice fellas. Would love to see them win this award.
