On recommendation I took my new Larrivee to a guy called Steve Curtis who owns a company in Manchester called 'The Guitar Repair Workshop'. (it is housed in a unit which is inside the large PMT music store) I wanted him to just check it all over and set it up the action. He did a superb job of it (I had frets dressed etc) and it plays even better than when I bought it. I would highly recommend Steve and his two colleagues - very friendly and accomodating and above all clearly passionate about guitars. I would even travel to use his services. Steve also showed me how to make my own truss rod adjustments if needs be explaining how and why the neck can move in diiferent climates etc. Great service. link

I called in a few weeks back for some Virtuoso guitar cleaner, after doing an internet search, Steve is the only UK seller, three miles from where I live! Really helpful bloke, I would have no problem recommending him. I was also surprised how many guitars are in the PMT store, midweek you have them virtually to yourself!! Martin, Gibson, Faith , Taylor and many other quality guitars. This was my first visit and it really was a surprise how many guitars and accessories are in there. Very helpful staff as well. The guy who was covering the acoustic section just said, play what you want. This was after I told him I wasn`t buying anything! Different from some places where it is an effort for the staff to get a guitar off the wall for you.
