I recall that scotch was interested in baritone guitars when he, 007 and I were touring the fleshpots of Halifax at HB4. So this is for him: Brian

Thanks for sharing Brian.
I can say the desire for a baritone hasn't gone away I've been constantly popping into the music shop and playing the Alvarez Baritone. IT has been added to the Xmas list and I've been good all year so hopefully it will pop up soon.

It is a modest price certainly for being good all year! Brian

Hi Chris,
I tried the Taylor 8 string baritone a few months ago and, despite being a Taylor fan, I didn't warm to it at all. I tried the Alverez 6 string Baritone at London Acoustic Show in September and quite liked it; seems excellent value for money. The one I'd like to try is the Walden B-1; this has got some good comments from Canada and I would like to see what the effect of the sound hole position is. Unfortunately there were no models available within 150 miles of me. )There is one advertised at Merchant City Music in Glasgow; I don't know how near that is to you. They are more expensive than the Alverez but I've seen the non-electric one occasionally at about £400 ish.If you do manage to try one let me know how it compares to the Alverez? I'm still not sure how much I'd play it though.
Regards
John

I was looking at the walden but only heard sound clips and really wasn't impressed just sounded flatter maybe because of smaller body or sound hole placement. I'm visiting up to Glasgow next month so will pop in to try. I would mostly use a baritone for composing it sounds great but difficult to push the melody to the front of the song I always end up making a groove. By this time next year I will be owning a baritone it's a must Chris
