I am sure a pickguard is something that could be fitted on the day you pick it up Steve, so I wouldn't worry, Simon wont mind I'm sure. Personally I'm with you on it being a shame to cover up that sunburst. Will you be doing a lot of strumming?

Steve, could you maybe get the clear static type of pick guard? It's removable and could be a solution if you're still unsure.

Thanks for the replies, Robbie, i don`t use a pick at all at the moment. This is why i`m thinking about not having one on the guitar. Martin, i hadn`t really thought about a clear pickguard, DOH! I think i will be making another phone call

That's a lovely looking set of mahogany you have there - you must be pleased with look of that back. The sunburst looks nice too - is that abalone rosette? Phil

Thanks for the comments Phil. The rosette is crowsfoot, the same as the border. I don`t know why i cannot get the image of the front any bigger to show its full glory.
