Since moving to spain & having more time on my hands i have started to learn classical guitar again one of my neighbours teaches so it has all fallen into place very well ,yesterday he took me to the workshop of the company Joan Cashimira were you can be shown around the workshop i warn you now they only speak spanish ,& also buy guitars at a very good price i bought a nice classical with a ceder top & bubinga sides & back for 280.00 euros list price in the U.K.£420.00very pleased i will write up a post on my visit if people are interested.

Hi Toby - good to see you around again - welcome to the new-look Forum!
Yes indeed, I'd love to read a write up of your visit to Cashimira, and I'm sure loads of other people would too.
I have played a Cashimira - a friend bought one for his son whilst on holiday when they visited the workshop too - stunning vfm for an beautiful looking and sounding instrument.
Any pics of yours you could show us? (I used to have a cedar/bubinga Almansa classical that was very appealing looking, though probably not as good sounding as yours is likely to be.)

They wernt keen on my taking pictures so i did not push very interestin couple of hours vist just playing in the new guitar now really enjoying it ,hope you are keeping well will get the report posted by about thurs.with pics of the new guitar.

I used to own a Cashimira - bought pretty much on impulse while on holiday in Spain. I sold it eventually as I don't do classical these days, but it was a lovely instrument and was probably the thing that galvanised my interest in music and acoustic guitars.
I think they're not bad value even at the UK price but anyone passing the workshop in Spain should definitely pay a visit - they do a fascinating tour of the factory (even if you don't speak Spanish!) and have a decent selection of freshly made classical and flamenco guitars to try - and buy!
Would love to see any photos and recording of your purchase Toby.

I have had to put the write up on my visit to the cashimira factory on hold for a few days ,this is due to the fact in october last year my partner broke her ankle & leg ,in the past she suffered from R.S.I this she was told due to her work on computers it seems that useing crutches & a zimmer frame has caused a flare up of this she now has to start a course of physio on wednesday it just means we have to get things sorted as far as house work etc sorted.
