I remember being very impressed by your playing on Soundcloud when you introduced yourself to the forum recently Nik. The most recent additions to your Soundcloud are even better!

You mention in your post about entering the competition that "My style has been described as 'atmospheric'. I think this is because I pay a lot of attention to tone and resonance". That is music to my old ears. I'd also commend you for being able to reach having that priority in your playing at such a young age - some of us took over 40 years of playing guitar before realising how vitally important tone and resonance are!

With your introduction about banging on tables I was thinking it was going to be percussive guitar but I'm glad to see that you were concentrating on melody

Obviously you're primarily here for the competition, but do have a look around the rest of the forum and get involved if something grabs your fancy (or pisses you off!).

Like Leo I was expecting to find more of a percussive guitar style, which just shows how easy it is to leap to conclusions in advance of knowing the facts. There are some percussive elements in some of your pieces but they work well and are supporting the music rather than being the main thrust of it. I have been enjoying hearing your melodic and musical guitar playing - very flowing in style and there is a great pulse to it all which is I suspect is helped by your abilities at percussion. :clap:
