I'd not really thought of the uke as a serious jazz instrument until my better half started to pick out some jazz standards for the uke for her to sing along with.
Sarah Maisel certainly has a great skill and musical sensitivity for that genre and instrument.

Lovely playing, Mark, but I still don't consider the uke as a serious jazz instrument. Indeed, I don't consider the uke as a serious instrument at all ... Now, don't go all angry on me..
What I mean is, the ukulele is, as has often been said, and instrument that always seems to bring with it a smile to the listener and the player. That's as it should be.
Watching the video and the various pained expressions of the player, she doesn't seem to be enjoying what she's doing. Ergo: she shouldn't be doing it on a ukulele.

Having watched the vid all the way though I think you may be misreading Sarah's facial expressions ....sometimes what looks like pain actually means the opposite.
