Beautiful work, Richard! Thanks for posting, and there's no such thing as too many pictures when it's about guitars! Great little video too, and the guitar tone is superb

Great posts, Richard - welcome back - and you needn't worry, it's not possible to post too many pictures like that - the instruments look lovely, and the vid was a bonus. Don't know how you get that sound from such a shallow body - top stuff! The Cilgerran looks totally gorgeous - any chance of a video of that one too...? Newer members may not be aware that nearly two years ago Richard was kind enough to be interviewed in our Meet the Maker series - www.acousticsoundboard.co.uk/thread/1261/meet-makers-richard-meyrick- well worth a re (or reread) to learn lots more about Richard and his work - and drool over some more pics of course. Thanks for the compliments, Ocarolan I have a video of me butchering the same tune on the Cilgerran. I spend more time with guitars in pieces than with them finished and it shows! I'll practice more next time promise

Great job Rich,
The Cedar/Cocobolo has a huge amount of bass!
What are the next guitars you are planning to work on?

Cheers, the cedar and cocobolo combined with a big body gave a big sound, I don't know how much the microphone and its placement affected the recorded sound but I think it was pretty true to life.
Earwighoney, I'm about halfway through a couple of commissions, one is an Oxwich Parlour in Indian Rosewood and European spruce and the other is a small Jumbo (as yet unnamed) in Honduran Rosewood and Adirondack spruce with another few orders lined up after that. Busy times! I'll try to keep a build thread going next time I start a guitar.

Also, is there a maple bridgeplate for the Cedar/Cocobolo 12 fretter and a rosewood bridgeplate for the OM? Sorry to ask but is there any particular reason for using different materials for the bridgeplates? I'm not generally a fan of fretboard binding but the bindings used for both the guitars looks very nice indeed. Also is the upper bout of your Cilgerran a little bigger than the traditional Martin 000-12 or is the waist a bit less tapered? Take some pictures of the Oxwich and the Small Jumbo and post them here! The Honduran/Adirondack Small Jumbo sounds very interesting indeed. I'd like to see the Honduran RW! Just out of curiousity do you have any interesting sets of wood in your wood locker? I've heard guitar builders suffer from a related variant that plights guitar players (GAS - Guitar Aquisition Syndrome) but concerns wood instead (WAS - Wood Acquisition Syndrome) Apologies for the burden of questions!

Hi earwighoney, The reason I went with rosewood for the bridge plate instead of maple is that I ran out of maple! I don't think it makes a difference to the tone (or not one that I could hear anyway!) Here's the jumbo, I've just finished the binding so it needs a lot of scrubbing up to make it look good, the Oxwich still has all the masking tape over the body so gluing the binding on so it just looks like a mummy

Thanks for the info Rich,
I have to say the Small Jumbo looks TASTY, full of meaty Guild goodness.
