Okay, I'll bite Did you do these alterations yourself, Alex? If so, how did you know where and how much to take off, presuming you didn't remove the top first? Yes, all done by myself, the top was not removed, all done through the soundhole, it was all a matter of guesswork to an extent, whenever I get a guitar it doesn't take long for me to look inside of it so I use the appearance of braces in better quality guitars as a basic reference point, I also tapped the top during shaving to search for a point that the top becomes more resonant and you hear more than a dead thump, I had it out last night and it actually projects sound now, better string balance, a bit louder, sounds a lot less like I've strung up a shipping crate. And I've never studied gynaecology, although I'm taking a gynaecology exam next week and I'm expecting to pass after that

That's a great achievement with thinning the bracing and such a logical idea too! But, logical apart, you're a brave man to give it a go - respect! Mark
