Last week i met up with 2 guys who have designed a new app, a social media/music promotion tool designed for artists to promote specifically to fans of their music, and the genre they play in general. Upon sign up, artists get 1000 virtual currency for free, which allows them to look for fans and add them for one currency.
The app looked great, and the whole design was really appealing. I like how it allows not only artists to benefit, but also fans to find artists of music they love. As with all new things, the start will be a defining time. I am glad to have been offered a chance to be one of the first musicians on it. I have only met a handful of Fingerstyle guitarists in Brighton, so i think i may have a niche if this thing kicks off.
I hope to have some new videos out at the end of the month, The 'King Provider - Unsigned' series should be out half way through, with 2 unrecorded tunes on, and I hope i sound sincere in my interview.
On the 27th Sept I will be returning to Leeds to audition for Soundwave Music Competition. This is the Live audition stage, and as part of it I had to purchase tickets for the gig up front. I know it will be hard to get my fans up to Leeds, so I plan on busking before the gig, and giving away tickets to hopeful fans who enjoy my music.
It seems success comes with investment, and I have set up a crowd funding page to raise money for the tickets and travel expenses to Leeds.
I also recently finished recording a video for a music magazine on the balcony of their office building, this should be out soon.
So unfortunately I didn't get through to the next audition stage in Soundwave Music Competition.
The whole thing was a sham though, the most badly run thing I'd ever seen, and the thing that annoyed me the most, was that 3 days before the audition we were told that 40% of our score would be to public votes.
I absolutely detest the way these things work. They aren't promoting talent at all, they just want whoever can pay enough money, and the whole competition seemed like a money trap from the start.
Ah wells! Onwards and upwards, I should have some new videos released soon which I'm very excited about,so stay tuned!
What's on your mind?
curmudgeon: Storm Eunice?? Moved cars off drive at midnight Good thing! falling tiles would have demolished both. Large greenhouse looks like Crystal Palace ...after the fire! Took cat to vets for gruesome procedure - I've taken to drink!

curmudgeon: Visited my allotment today. My greenhouse is now spread over about four others. Really sorry for folks up north threatened by flooding. We narrowly missed flodding in '87.
