This young man seems to know his way around a guitar -
...and he has a nice shed too.
I really enjoyed listening to this, but for me it's another of those vids where, thanks to processing of the recording, what I'm seeing doesn't match what I'm hearing. Sheds just don't have that kind of acoustic, but on a CD I reckon his stuff will sound lovely.

Lovely shed And amazing playing too! He's getting a beautiful, clear but warm sound from his playing, and it's just so fluid and dynamic. Wonderful. I spotted this fella on Roger's newletter today, and instantly thought 'young whippersnapper!'. Seems I was right I wonder if he's been classically trained, as his hand positions seem to suggest. Whatever, he's a huge talent.

He does play a lot of nylon-string stuff too, so may well have had some classical training - you're right about the hands I'm sure. I found out about him form the newsletter too and have been checking some of his other stuff.
Did you see the "bevel" Alex as well Martin - first bevelled guitar I've seen that didn't look odd to me. Had a flurry of emails with Roger about that one - only the second one he's been asked for, and for a US customer of course. Roger isn't a fan of bevels either, but is happier now he's worked out how to do the chamfered bit as an integral part of the binding.

Wow..he is a beautifully fluid player! I know what you mean about the strange acoustics for a shed Keith...does seem a bit other worldly Ay first sight I thought he was playing an Alchemist [where's Gecko these days BTW?] ...I didn't know that Fylde made a cutaway version of the Alex...guess it is a custom model maybe....sounds great in any event!

Yes Andrew, Roger calls it a Custom Alex, nominally anyway. Alex and Alchemist are same body shape so could be called a Custom Alchemist just as easily I suppose. What's in a name? Gekko isn't playing a lot lately -hangs out on F/B mostly. Did send her a reminder re HB4 but..... Martin - I expects when he takeses the capo off it gets put in it's pocketses. Keith
