I came close to trading my guitar because of the neck, so I just decided to reprofile the neck and make it a bit thinner. It was my first attempt at using the egg White grain filler technique that I heard about from Dave White and my first attempt at French polishing, all went rather well.

Looks like this came up really well Alex. Can I ask you a couple of questions...
What did you use to reprofile the neck? Just a bit of sandpaper or something more heavy duty...
How much did you actually change the neck profile by?
I once briefly owned a Santa Cruz 0029. I really liked the guitar but found the V-neck too much for me. I considered reprofiling but got scared off. I was told that you couldn't tell how far the truss rod was away from the bottom of the neck (and could sand through) and that because the neck had a sunburst finish it was going to look pretty ordinary once sanded back. Perhaps I should have kept the guitar and given it a go... or sent it to you to have the work done!!!
Hope it all works out well for you.
Cheers, marcus

I used sandpaper for the most part, I didn't change it by a lot but it is definitely more comfortable, it was rather chunky. you can find where the truss rod is by drilling a small hole in the back of the neck until it hits the truss rod and measure the depth then fill the hole.

Great work.
I have some serious respect for you Alex.
Here's a virtual pat on the back/fist bump.
(you should make a guitar one day...)

Thanks!, I had the intention to make a guitar for fun but I don't have the necessary tools, nor the money to buy them or any place to put them., although I have a few guitar necks that are doing nothing that I will probably use to make a cigar box or such type guitar
