I don't think I mentioned it on this thread before, but I'm booked in for this too, as is my new friend Thomas from Germany who bought my Fylde 30th Anniversary guitar just before Christmas. As someone who has never been known to venture beyond open D, and then only rarely, it looks like I'll be firmly in the beginners' corner. Be gentle with me...

Richard, Great news - looking forward to meeting up again at Halsway and to meet Thomas too. Don't panic, drop D is two thirds of the way to DADGAD

Yeah Dave, and CGDGCD is a third of the way towards standard tuning - or as I tend to think of it, nine tenths of the way to "where the *#!? am I?" I'll be fine I'm sure...

Just tune to drop D, take the top two strings off, put on your shades and play away

Just wanted to quickly pop my head up and say a massive thank-you to everyone who came along and made this weekend such a fun and uplifting event. ocarolan Phil Taylor and davewhite Riverman thanks. We had a good turnout, some great tutors, a fantastic display of Dave and Kai's instruments and hopefully recruited a few folks to the forum. Plans are afoot for another.

It was a great w/e Gav, thank you so much, you did a grand job organising, hosting, teaching, playing and ensuring everyone was getting the most out of the w/e - you must be knackered.
I see Kitty and Sarah have signed up here so far, excellent.
I've set myself the task of doing a write up of Halsway AGW 2016 today before the memories get confused!
Roll on Halsway AGW 2017!
