Hey folks - hope this is of interest to someone. Myself, Ben Walker and David DeLarre are running a day-long workshop over at Cecil Sharp House on Sunday 22nd Nov. We'll be looking at CGCGCD tunings, getting out of I, IV, V, messing about in DADGAD.. If that sort of thing piques your interest, sign up! Ask questions here, put in requests and I'll try and answer what I can! It's supported by the Bert Jansch foundation and is pretty reasonably priced. The day is suitable for guitarists from improvers to advanced players. (As far as I'm concerned if you can tune your guitar and have an open mind you'll be fine...) The day will conclude with an optional sharing session for participants to meet informally and play for one another some of what they have learnt during the day, joined by the tutors who will also give brief performances. £30 | £24 concessions To enrol, contact education@efdss.org 020 7241 8953 link

Just a gentle bump of this - it is this Sunday, and numbers are good but not huge so we're going to be working in groups of around ten people. Obviously we'd like more, but if you do fancy coming along you'll get a very good workshop experience with plenty of time for one-to-one attention. I'll be covering CGCGCD for tune playing and song accompaniment, Dave will be looking at standard tuning and escaping the three chord trick and Ben will be looking at fingerstyle arrangement and technique in DADGAD and I believe there's room to chop and change between workshops.
If you come along (or already are) and you're on the forum do come and say hello!

Gav,
That looks great value for money. I'd come if to wasn't for the fact I've already signed up to a political songwriting workshop with Robb Johnson on the same day!
